How do I buy tickets?
Click HERE to purchase tickets. Each graduate is allowed to bring two guests which will cost £6 each. There is no charge for graduating students to attend. Tickets are available from Thursday 13th July 2017 (HE results day) until Friday 6th October 2017.
How do I login to the ticket portal?
Search for 'Truro and Penwith College' as the institution (not Plymouth University) and use your 'Truro and Penwith College' student ID that is part of your email address (without your initials at the start) to login. Please note that you are asked to provide an email address for your tickets to be emailed to, this is not an address that needs to be matched to the College contact details that we currently hold.
Why can't I register or buy tickets for graduation?
Only students who have fully passed their course are eligible for graduation - if you have any referred work then this must be completed before you are able to register.
I can't login to my graduation account from last year:
A different account has been set-up with different details for this year - please register as a new user.
As a graduate, do I need to book my own ticket?
Yes, all graduates need to book a ticket to reserve their seats but graduate tickets are free.
I would like to bring more than 2 guests. How can I do this?
The capacity at Truro Cathedral is limited and unfortunately we have to restrict each graduate to two guests. Any unsold tickets will be available from 9am on Monday 9th October. Please state how many extra tickets you will require when purchasing your original tickets, note that this does not guarantee tickets but just gives us an indication with regards to capacity levels at the Cathedral.
How many extra tickets can I purchase?
If there are any unsold tickets, you will be able to purchase up to two additional tickets. Tickets can be purchased HERE from 9am on Monday 9th October. Additional tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis.
I want to come but I don’t require any guest tickets. What do I do?
Even if you do not wish to buy tickets, please inform us that you wish to attend. Therefore you must still register your details HERE
Can I buy my tickets from the College?
No, all ticket sales are now online and can be booked HERE
Who do I contact about special requirements for myself or for my guests?
You will be asked at the ticket checkout if you have any special requirements such as disabled access, seating arrangements or assistance required. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to make us aware of your situation.
Where do I book my gown?
Go to the website HERE or call 01223 861 854. Once you have ordered your gown, you will collect it from inside Truro Cathedral on the evening of the ceremony. Booking for gowns closes one week prior to the event.
Do I have to wear a gown?
Gowns are optional but recommended. The vast majority of students choose to wear them and all Programme Leaders, senior management and VIPs will be wearing ceremonial dress.
How do I book photography?
Go to the website HERE or call 01223 861 854. You can book photography at the same time as booking your gown.
When do I arrive at Truro Cathedral?
Registration arrival times for courses are staggered to minimise queuing - See COURSE ARRIVAL TIMES. You must arrive on time at the West Door (front, main entrance) and register immediately. If you do not register, your name will not be read out in the ceremony.
Do I have to stay in the Cathedral once I have registered?
No, graduates will arrive at designated times to register but are free to leave with the understanding that they must return to be seated between 6pm-7:15pm.
When can my guests arrive at Truro Cathedral?
Guests can arrive from 4:20pm to register with the graduates and will directed to seats between 6pm-7:15pm.
Does Truro Cathedral have disabled access?
Yes, there is a ramp to the left of the West Door (front, main entrance) next to the shop. Please contact 01872 265802 in advance and we can arrange seating for you.
Do I sit with my family and friends?
No. Graduates sit together in their courses. There is plenty of time before and after the ceremony to spend with your friends and family.
How long does the Graduation ceremony last?
The ceremony normally finishes between 9.30pm-10.00pm with canapés and drinks for students and guests served afterwards.
Do I have to stay until the end of the ceremony?
Graduates and guests must all remain seated throughout the ceremony, except for collecting certificates and awards.
When do I receive my certificate?
Certificates will be posted by Recorded Delivery once they have been received from Plymouth University. This is normally in November. Please ensure the college has the correct address for you when you leave.
