Bethany – Access to Science
Mum of two Bethany reignited a lifelong passion for science after enrolling on the Access to Science course at the University Centre Truro & Penwith, and now hopes to become a dentist after continuing her university journey.

Over 20% of Cornwall Group Ltd’s workforce are current or former apprentices having trained in areas such as Glass Processing, Administration, Glazing, Installation, Finance, IT, Marketing and Engineering. The Group has a strong track record of apprentices progressing to managerial roles, including many members of the Senior Management Team.

Hospitality apprentice Sarah became a double award winner at the 2024 Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards in recognition of her determination and perseverance throughout her journey.
Amy – PGCE
Inspired by her own teachers and with a passion for passing on her industry experience, PGCE Alumni Amy is now a lecturer at Truro College.
Maddy – Access to Medicine
Maddy studied Access to Medicine at the University Centre and has since progressed to the University of Exeter to study Medicine, with a view to specialise in paediatrics.
Stephanie – Access to Science
Stephanie wanted to progress her career in the Dental Industry and having completed an Access to Science Diploma, she is ready to start a Dental Hygiene Therapy Degree.
Phoebe – Access to Science
An Access diploma enabled Phoebe to get a place at Bristol University and persue her passion of caring for animals with a Veterinary Science degree.

Hiyield’s Truro and Penwith College apprenticeship programme has developed a pipeline of talent with former apprentices now permanent employees including Developers running projects worth tens of thousands of pounds.

Alumni Alice thrived during her time at the University Centre and is now saving lives as an Emergency Care Assistant!
