Spark

Business start-up support for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Spark helps new and fledgling businesses get ahead.

What is Spark?

Spark is a flexible programme that helps new businesses to get established – from the first seed of an idea to one year’s trading. Through workshops, grants and one-to-one advice, the programme provides the insight and tools for you to start your business and make it a success.

The programme is open to anyone aged 18 or over who is looking to register a business in Cornwall. Fully funded by the European Regional Development Fund, it utilises the expertise of Truro and Penwith College, Plymouth University, Cornwall Innovation and the Chamber of Commerce.

There are three simple steps to business success with Spark: Idea; Inspiration and Realisation.

Spark also offers a Women's programme, building on the successful Enterprising Smart Women programme, Spark for Women brings together likeminded entrepreneurs to turn their business ideas into reality. If you're interested in this programme, please contact us on the details provided below.

Realisation

Once you have registered your business, you will receive further support to help your business in its early stages. The action plan will consist of 12 hours of support, including mentoring, reviews, workshops and events.

If at any point during the five steps you decide you are not ready to start your business just yet, we will provide advice and guidance on other opportunities available across the county.
