Deputy Team Leader – Health & Social Care (Truro)

The Deputy Team Leader will work directly with the Programme Team Leader and existing Deputy to ensure outstanding and innovative teaching, learning and assessment throughout the Health & Social Care department. This includes the overseeing of Study Programmes and Level 1,2, 3 and T levels

We are seeking applicants with relevant professional experience within a healthcare setting, and successful experience in teaching and / or training.

Candidates with a nursing background would be particularly welcomed. The successful candidate is likely to be a committed health care professional who is able to share their industry knowledge and enthusiasm with students and staff to enhance the academic and practical aspects of the Health & Social Care courses.

The successful applicant will be required to provide high quality teaching on education programmes and work closely with the teaching team to contribute to an outstanding learning experience for our students – most of whom are 16-19 years old and taking their first steps towards becoming healthcare professionals. A commitment to continual quality and curriculum improvement and a flexible approach to teaching and learning is required. 

Applicants should hold a degree or similar professional qualification and a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one. In addition to the above outlined responsibilities, the successful candidate will undertake key leadership tasks within the Health & Social Care Department including staff development, appraisals and learning walks, and have responsibility for the development and best use of the simulation suite(s).

Salary - £42,450 - £44,985 per annum
