My Story

Eithne, who previously attended Penryn College, studied A Levels in Biology and Psychology and an Extended Certificate in Music Performance, as well as being a Student Ambassador during her time at College.

As a Student Ambassador, Eithne assisted with College events and interacted with students, staff and prospective students and parents. “I made a lot of new friends,” Eithne explained.

Speaking on her college experience, Eithne said: “I really enjoyed spending time with the people on my Music course; the whole course was so fun. I enjoyed doing performances.

“Biology was very useful as a base subject to study and psychology was my favourite, I found it really interesting, and that’s why I want to study it at university.”

Eithne also had the opportunity to compliment her studies with the College’s Enrichment program, where she chose to go further in her musical studies with the Music Academy.

The College gave Eithne a lot of insight into career opportunities within psychology for when she completed her studies, as well as assistance with applying for university and writing a personal statement.

“My tutor was really great at helping me make decisions and apply, and my psychology lecturer gave me a lot of insight into the best universities to pick.”

“The lecturers give good support, and you get a lot of extra opportunities from the College.”

Eithne now plans to take a gap year which she will spend travelling and working, before heading to Cardiff University the following September to study Psychology.

Her advice for new students is to: “choose a course that you enjoy because that’s the most important thing.”
